Mechanarchy Community Bicycle Repair and Servicing Workshops:
At Mechanarchy we are dedicated to getting everyone involved in riding Bicycles. We believe that Bicycles help us to re-connect with Nature and with ourselves as well as providing us with undoubtedly the most enjoyable way of getting and keeping fit. Of course it goes without saying that the Environmental benefits of Push-bike riding are enormous!
Bicycles also give us the means to re-connect with each other and through that, build friendlier and more caring Communities. When we meet other riders, we often feel something deep within us, a desire to stop and chat and share our experience. The comradery of Bicycle riding is something you just don't get when driving your car.
Learning how to repair your Bicycle, especially amongst Community friends, can be a very rewarding experience. For this reason, Mechanarchy has created the Community Bicycle Repair and Servicing Workshops, tailored to meet the unique needs and knowledge of each person attending, primarily in Regional and Rural Areas.
If you regularly ride a Bicycle, you will know that things like flat tyres can be a fact of life, although with the new Kevlar banded tyres, punctures are becoming a rarity. Nonetheless, it is still important to know how to take care of the basics, like puncture repair, just in case one day you get caught out. Whether it's the basics or a more in depth knowlegde of Bicycle repair or servicing you are seeking, Mechanarchy can help you and your Community gain that understanding.
We Come To You, on a Fully Equiped Cargo Bike!

You or Your Community provides the space, grease, oil and cleaning rags, and we provide the tools, expertise and tool catalogues. That way, if there are any tools you need that are specific to your bike, you can find out what they are, how to use them correctly and if your eager enough, get some for your own home workshop.
We ask each person to invest $15 for the workshops, a minimum of 5 people are required to book one and we like to keep the total attendance down to a maximum of 10 in order to keep things as personalised as possible.
The Community Workshops usually run for an entire day with the standard breaks for Morning and Afternoon Tea and Lunch. Make sure you bring your own food and drink, Oh and by the way, no alcohol permitted!
If your bike requires any new parts fitted and you know about it before attending the Community Workshop, we'd suggest that you contact your local bike shop, or one in a nearby town, and order them ahead of time. We carry some spare parts with us but as you can appreciate, being on a pushbike limits the amount we can carry! If we find anything major wrong with your bike during the workshop, we'll do our best to get something organised for you. But please remember, we can't perform miracles!

We look forward to catching up with you and your Community!
