"Blame No-One, Expect Nothing, Do Something!"
If we truly want to change our World, the responsibilty lies with us, each and every one of us. We live in a World where the majority of people are waiting for somebody else to do something first, about the issues we all face. The fear of "losing out", if we take direct action ourselves, looms large in the minds of most individuals and as such we hear the same helpless refrain; "the Government or somebody (anybody as long as it's not me) should do something about that". As a result, nothing truly changes, apart from some tinkering at the edges, and so we resign ourselves at the end of each regretful year to uttering those habitualised words that reinforce our belief in our own powerlesness, the prayers for "Hope, Peace, Love, Joy and Happiness".
Let's not pretend. If YOU take direct action FIRST, you WILL lose out. That is an iron clad guarantee. Society is structured in the way that it is, in order to ensure that you do.
If you can get beyond that, then please read on. If you can't, then this web site is simply not for you. Thanks for visiting, we respect your right of choice and wish you comfort in your hope.
We are all born free, a fact that most of us simply don't spend enough time deeply considering. Instead, we readily accept an indoctrinated life, or "life as it is sold to us from birth", a life that offers little in the way of true choice.
We are born free and we can remain free only if we can choose, and we can choose, only if we know enough to compare.
From the day we are born we are offered very few comparitive lifestyle options and as we grow older we become obediently restricted through outdated Laws, Regulations, Habits, Traditions and Prejudices, to a life of "the only acceptable way". Any free thinkers who dare to step outside of this "way" are rapidly marginalised and promptly labelled as quacks, cultists, idealists and followers, labels that would be more appropriately applied to those espousing them.
A life lived in the pursuit of knowledge, one that continually encourages us to fully explore its potential through the use our inherent creativity, one that allows us to learn through a wide range of experiences, good and bad, a life without the "parental" like guarantees that we are so frequently enticed towards in contemporary society, is the only one that can deliver us true freedom.
Societies need accepted fundamental rules and values in order to gain a workable degree of stability, but we are far removed from that. Years of religous fear, mysticism, science, technology, psychology, economics and marketing have all done their bit and provided us with suitable ideologies to worship, alters at which we can bow and hand over our responsibility for life to somebody or something else.
However, the fools paradise is gradually being seen for what it truly is.
Societal values and order don't work when they come from external authorities or ideologies, they exist deep within us, and they will only emerge if we learn to fully trust in them. This requires courage and a determination to stay with what we know to be right, just and fair, no matter whether we see those beliefs turn into reality in our lifetime or not. Importantly however, when we "lose out" to the old, we open up many new opportunities and rewards beyond that which we could have ever imagined. As Erasmus so eloquently once penned:
"By identifying new learning with heresy, you simply make orthodoxy synonomous with ignorance."
There is no "one right way", despite what our "leaders" would have us believe, but somewhere there is a balance between fundamental societal values and individual freedoms, a place where we can be who we were born to be whilst maintaining our commitment to the whole. That balance is where true Human growth and potential exists.
In these pages you will find many new ideas and ways, from the everyday pragmatic to the future conceptual, take what works and discard what doesn't, life must always be about choice. If you feel the urge to contribute to the site, or if you would like us to delve into an issue that you have in mind, or to come up with an alternative way of tackling a practical problem, please let us know, we would love to hear from you.
