At Mechanarchy, we believe that there are enough second hand materials lying around to build just about anything connected with bicycles. The only limit is both your and our imagination! Bicycle Trailers are a great example.
Whether you are a regular Bicycle Rider or a Small to Medium Sized Business looking to find more cost effective and Environmentally Friendly ways of getting your goods around, we can design and build a trailer specifically to meet your needs.
There are a host of inexpensive new trailers available on the market today, but these are limited in many ways:
1) They are not made 'uniquely' for you - If you want to stand out from the crowd, you need to be unique!
2) They may not be long, short or tall enough or have the perfect carrying platform / strength for your needs.
3) They 'add to' rather than 'lessen' consumption and therefore, their Environmental Impact is far greater.
As well as building Bicycle Trailers out of used materials, I can also make them out of new materials, (although my preference is the former). 'The Tradie', pictured above was made for a customer in Castlemaine, who recently went 'Car-less', (always a huge plus!) and you can see it in action Here......
Your new trailer, whether used or new, will always be painted with two coats of undercoat and two top coats. Whilst this process is not the most Environmentally sound practice, I do believe that if the trailer is looked after, the paint should help the trailer last a very long time.
All my trailers come with a 12 Month guarantee from faulty workmanship and or parts.
I build them sturdily, for example I use a 12.5 mm Axle, shrouded with a Steel Tube between the wheels which provides a robust 16.5 mm Axle Diameter, more than sufficient for the types of loads that either regular cyclists or businesses may carry.
When you pick up your new trailer, you'll also get a full run down on the importance of how you load it. Bicycle Trailers are no different to Car Trailers / Caravans, if you place too much of your load in one place, this can easily affect the performance of your ride.

This usually means getting some photo's from you of the rear of your bike and the necessary dimensions.
I make my own Bicycle Hitches which remain clamped onto your bike in readiness for whenever you want to attach the Trailer. The Trailers come with Safety Chains and Reflectors (Red Rear / Amber Side / White Front) and I am always able to supply these from the large range of used Reflectors I have in Stock.
